Writing exclusively for GB News membership readers, David Morris says Labour ‘don’t respect the result of the Brexit’

The benefits of Brexit are starting to become apparent, and apart from having autonomy of the banking systems in the City, our science and tech industries are starting to work with the rest of the EU on our terms with more profitable partnerships and our trade agreements are working in favour of the UK and not handicapped by EU rigmarole.

We are at last starting to get a meaningful deterrent from the relentless invasion of illegal asylum seekers with the Rwanda Legislation.

It has been widely reported in the press that Labour claim erroneously to have a plan to stop illegal immigration.

Their proposals look a lot like Sir Keir's grand plan is simply to make illegal migration legal by amalgamating the UK back into the EU by stealth by becoming an associate member of the EU giving away the Brexit vote.

Labour ‘don’t respect the result of the Brexit,’ writes David Morris

It comes as no surprise as both recent Labour leaders along with many in Labour, have gone on record countless times that we should stay in the EU and fought against it which is not what the British people voted for.

Even Labour's proposals under Sir Keir Starmer were treated with incredulity by EU officials.

A report by the think-tank UK in a Changing Europe warned that the UK was 'not a priority for the EU, which remains relatively happy' with the Brexit deal.

As such, a Labour government would have to 'provide the EU with an incentive to restart negotiations over Brexit'. In plain English: give your billions to rejoin the EU.

The EU mocked Labour’s ideas as “delusional”. Now Sir Keir shamelessly tries to deceive the British public that he cares about illegal migration. It’s a strange way of showing it by opening the UK borders and inviting more illegal immigrants to chance crossing the English Channel.

Let’s take a look at his voting record on this issue: 18 months ago Sir Keir forced all Labour MPs to vote against the Nationality and Borders Act which made tougher sentences for people smugglers. He now tries to convince us that these were on a par with terrorists. You don’t “treat people smugglers like terrorists” as he put it by voting against the increased detention powers and power to seize mobile phones in the Illegal Migration Act and demanding the closure of removal centres.

Whilst he’s been trying to undermine our border security, this Government has Passed laws against illegal immigration and doubled the National Crime Agency's funding for organised immigration crime. This has boosted intelligence sharing, deployed more officers abroad, struck deals with Italy, Bulgaria & Turkey and most importantly reestablished cooperation with French border forces.

Vile people smugglers getting people onto boats, charging them thousands and perilously launching them into the Channel from France is big business in the organised crime world and that’s the real problem.

StarmerStarmer described the government approach as unsustainablePA

This hard and important work has helped reduce crossings by 20 per cent when they’ve risen very sharply in Europe. That means implementing the Illegal Migration Act which Labour has again voted against, and the Rwanda partnership which Labour would scrap with nothing but open borders in its place. Remember the recent Albania deal? - which has reduced crossings by 92 per cent by returning Albanian illegal migrants within as little as 48 hours? This shows that this Government’s deterrence strategy works.

Labour is shamelessly now offering an alternative to the Illegal Migration Act to take hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants from the established safety of the EU. But is that really a solution?

Labour’s ‘plan’ has already fallen apart. The truth is Labour won’t take the tough, but necessary action to stop the boats. And they don’t respect the result of the Brexit Referendum.
