Steph McIntosh, 33, saw the shocking incident on her doorbell camera after she noticed the boxes had made their way over the fence

A Yodel delivery driver was caught on camera hurling a customer’s fragile packages over their 6ft gate.

Steph McIntosh, 33, was gobsmacked when she checked CCTV footage to discover that a driver had chucked two large cardboard boxes containing her deliveries into the driveway.

The 33-year-old had been watching TV when she heard her phone ring, though upon seeing an unknown number, decided not to pick it up as she suspected it could be a scam.

She later noticed that two large packages were sitting on her driveway, though soon became dismayed when she discovered that the boxes - which were containing fragile items - had been carelessly hurled over her 6ft gate.

McIntosh, from St Austell, Cornwall, had expected the driver to have left the packages outside the door or gate, rather than chucking them over the fence.

Checking the doorbell footage, she saw that the Yodel driver did ring the bell, though she did not receive a notification.

The 33-year-old said: “We buy things in bulk for our business and sell it on afterwards.

“One of the deliveries was some figurines and there were a couple of bits of that fell apart - which could've been way worse.”

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

McIntosh made a formal complaint to Yodel about the incident, however said she imagines that they are “inundated with complaints if this is the way their drivers operate”.

The company that she bought the products off of are currently talking to Yodel to get the money refunded.

A Yodel spokesperson said: “The safe delivery of our parcels is our number one priority, and the overwhelming majority of our parcels are delivered correctly in the first instance.

“We are sorry that Ms McIntosh's experience did not meet the high standards we strive for and we are taking appropriate measures to ensure that this does not happen again.”

Earlier this year, an Evri courier was caught haphazardly throwing pickles into a gutter.

In video footage caught by a passer-by, a driver can be seen flinging parcels out of a white van parked in Torquay, Devon.

Maciej Olszewski had been on his way to work in April when he spotted the strange behaviour, and his first thought was that a new camera he had purchased may have ended up on the roadside.

Though Olszewski didn't confront the driver, he joked: “This is what [Evri's] internal procedures look like.”

Evri said in a statement: “We take our responsibility to care for every parcel seriously and the footage shown does not reflect our high standards.

“Action has been taken quickly to ensure this doesn't happen again, including additional training.”
