Russia's commander-in-chief has issued a warning over US warships equipped with huge missiles which have the ability to strike "targets in most areas of Russia".
Nikolai Yevmenov said the Tomahawk cruise missile fuelled vessels are a serious threat to national security.
According to the Russian chief, the long-range missiles are able to deliver "massive" strikes.
Raytheon - the defence contractor of the Tomahawks - claims to be able to "strike targets precisely from 1,000 miles away, even in heavily defended airspace" after being launched from the US military's ships and submarines.

Yevmenov shared his concerns over the missiles in the Krasnaya Zvezda, a newspaper linked to the Russian Defense Ministry, according to reports from Russian media.
Raytheon says there are variations of the ammunition, which include a new and modernised Block V series.
Tensions between the US and Russia have been intensifying as the US continue to aid Ukraine’s defence as the single-largest provider country for military assistance during the conflict.

TWITTERIt comes after Russia evacuated 300 people from a major city in an "unprecedented move" following a surge in frequent attacks from Ukraine.
Residents in Belgorod - located less than 20 miles from the Ukrainian border - have been forced to leave in the largest evacuation from a major Russian city since the conflict began.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the regional governor, said 300 former Belgorod residents have been moved to temporary accommodation in the towns of Stary Oskol, Gubkin and the Korochansky district.
