Police and fire services have confirmed the odour has left over a dozen people feeling unwell.
Reports suggest that a woman called the police around midday JST (4:00am BST) today, reporting a "pungent odour" and that "everyone was coughing".
Similar reports were made at a nearby police box.
The smell first occurred on the first floor of the centre near a local bank.
