The US has ‘thrown open its borders’ to prompt an immigration crisis that can be considered one of the worst ever seen by mankind, a top investigative journalist has claimed.
Todd Bensman joined Jacob Rees-Mogg on GBN America to lament the situation at the US-Mexico border.
He believes the crisis is the worst in American history based on the ‘metrics’ alone, but he went even further to suggest it could be considered the worst in human history.
“The numbers, the metrics tell a story”, he said.

“We have never had anywhere near the number of illegal immigrant crossings into the US over the past 36 months in the history of the country and I dare say it is probably in the history of the world.
“I am having a hard time finding another case of this, even in Europe.

“We are looking at close to 10 million people that have entered the United States.”
GBNA’s Jacob Rees-Mogg raised the point that America has always been known as a nation of immigrants, a point Bensman concurred with.
But the investigative journalist said the situation the country currently faces is displaced from the story of its origins.
“The United States is a nation of immigrants”, he said.

“We are a welcoming nation, but we are a nation of legal immigrants. Ellis Island was a legal entry point for millions of immigrants.
“What’s happened here is something quite outside of the experience of this country.
“We have never allowed millions upon millions of people to enter the country illegally as a matter of policy.
“As a matter of fact, I would say we have never seen any country that has ever existed that has thrown open its borders to whoever wants to come. There has normally been some sort of attempt to wrestle that down.
“But this is an actual policy from the administration to let literally everybody who comes across the border to stay.”
The migrant crisis is set to play a pivotal role in deciding who comes out on top at this year’s US election.
Joe Biden has been criticised for his role in easing the border process for migrants, but he insists the matter has not been aided by House Republicans.
