Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake has said that if elected as President, Donald Trump will end the migrant 'invasion' and he is 'the only way out of the mess that we're in.'
It comes after Trump stormed to victory in the Iowa caucus, with more than half of voters backing the 77-year-old.
Lake spoke on GB News to Nigel Farage about Trump's approach to border control: "It is an invasion and I am not sure that the people of Great Britain understand it.
"I think because our generation thought an invasion would look like warplanes flying over, people parachuting down, warships coming up to our shore, troops coming in. We have that going on at our border. We have military-age men coming over by the tens of thousands.

"I'm going to be honest, I don't trust the government numbers. If they're telling me 12 million, it's got to be more than that. And I've seen it. I'm living in Arizona, which is a border state. We have to get this controlled.
"President Trump's the man to do it. I lived there. I worked as an honest journalist for 27 years.
"I never saw that border more secure than under President Trump. And on day one, Joe Biden pulled that back.
Farage said: "There were still people coming across, but the numbers were much lower."
She added: "It was manageable. And he was working to make sure we brought them down even further by constructing and building the wall.
"So we need to get those policies back in. We need to get the people who have poured across back into their homelands and start investing in America.
"I'm going to do everything I can in Washington, DC to help President Trump.
"Every decision I make will be made asking the question, will this secure the American border? Will this help American security? Will this help American families and American businesses?
"We have to put America at the center of our policy because it hasn't been being put there. Joe Biden has put everybody except America at the center."

Lake hit out at attorneys with “political motivations” as she spoke on the “unfortunate” situation.
“This has been an eight-year witch hunt”, she said.
“They cannot stop him, so they’re weaponising lawfare and the judicial system against him.
“The American people see right through it.”
