New evidence shows that the suspect recorded multiple videos prior to the attack, in which he pledged allegiance to ISIS
The New Orleans attacker's brother has said that the suspect was a "nice, caring guy" despite discussing plans to kill his family and join ISIS.
Shamsud-Din Jabbar's younger sibling has described him as "a sweetheart really, a nice guy, a friend, really smart, caring," in an interview with The New York Times.
Abdur Jabbar, 24, from Beaumont, Texas, revealed that his brother had converted to Islam at an early age.
Still, the younger Jabbar was distanced the attack from religious motivations, saying that what his brother "did does not represent Islam".

"This is more some type of radicalisation, not religion," he added.
New evidence has emerged showing the suspect recorded multiple videos prior to the attack, in which he pledged allegiance to ISIS.
The footage, which is currently being reviewed by investigators, appears to have been filmed at night while he is driving, with the suspect not visible in the recordings, which were posted to Jabbar's Facebook page before the attack, officials have confirmed.
Sources believe the recordings were made during his journey from Texas to Louisiana, although the exact timing is unknown.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The vehicle used in the attack was identified as a Ford electric truck, which had been rented through Turo, a vehicle-sharing platform, from another 42-year-old Houston resident.
According to investigators, Jabbar had planned to lure his family into a staged celebration with the intention of killing them.
The FBI believes the terrorist did not act alone, with surveillance footage reportedly showing three men and a woman placing multiple improvised explosive devices at the scene.
Additionally, the truck used in the attack was found to have an ISIS flag and contained a chest loaded with explosives.
A terrorist attack in New Orleans yesterday has left 15 people dead after a man drove a truck into crowds of revellers in the Louisiana city.
After driving into the crowd of New Year's celebrants yesterday, Jabbar exited the vehicle and began shooting before being shot dead by officers.
The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar yesterday evening, and is a US citizen from Texas.
Following the horrific attack, he was killed in a shootout with police after mowing down pedestrians and opening fire.
