Elon Musk has blasted George Soros for “eroding the fabric of civilisation” as he hailed the “great wakening” from wokeness.
The 52-year-old joined popular American podcaster Joe Rogan, 56, as the pair drank whiskey and smoked cigars.
Musk, who became CEO of social media platform X a year ago, repeated long-held criticisms of the 93-year-old billionaire financier.
Soros has backed progressive causes for decades and frustrated Musk earlier this year by dumping his Tesla stock.
The Hungarian-born billionaire, who survived Nazi occupation, emerged as a hugely-influential philanthropist in the United States after crossing the pond from the United Kingdom.
Musk told Rogan: “He is I believe the top contributor to the Democratic Party.
“The second one was Sam Bankman-Fried. And Soros, he had a very difficult upbringing.
“In my opinion, he fundamentally hates humanity. That's my opinion.”

The SpaceX founder voiced particular concern about Soros' support for progressive district attorneys.
“He's doing things that erode the fabric of civilization - getting DAs elected who refuse to prosecute crime,” said Musk.
“That's part of the problem in San Francisco, and LA, and a bunch of other cities. So why would you do that?”
Rogan asked: “Is it humanity, or just the United States?”
Musk responded by arguing the impact was being felt worldwide.

He added: “He’s pushing things in other countries as well.”
The comments came just days after Musk said: “The great wakening from woke has happened. This is good for civilization.”
The South African-born entrepreneur previously compared Soros to X Men supervillain Magento.

However, the American Jewish Committee recently addressed criticisms of Soros and the occasions when it takes an antisemitic turn.

The group’s assessment, made in no part in relation to Musk’s comments, said: “Criticising Soros or his politics and actions is not antisemitic.
“Indeed, those who have suggested that any criticism is antisemitic do real disservice to the cause of fighting Jew hatred.
“However, when Soros is used as a symbol for Jewish control, wealth, and power, the criticism may be an updated version of traditional antisemitic tropes (see conspiracy theory, control, Jewish figures, cabal, globalist).
“Unfortunately, hatred of George Soros has not remained solely on the internet.
“In October 2018, a far-right agitator sent a bomb to his house, as part of a string of bomb threats against prominent Democrats.”
