Political Consultant Alex Deane has criticised Tucker Carlson after Russian prison sources confirmed the death of Vladimir Putin's biggest opposition leader, Alexei Navalny.
The 47-year-old critic of the Russian President and major political figure's death was announced by the prison service of the Yamalo-Nenets region.
A statement from the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia read: "On February 16, 2024, in correctional colony No 3, convict A A Navalny felt unwell after a walk, almost immediately losing consciousness.
"The institution's medical workers immediately arrived, and an emergency medical team was called.

"All necessary resuscitation measures were carried out, but they did not yield positive results... Emergency medical doctors confirmed the death of the convict."
Earlier this month, the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson sat down in Moscow with Navalny's rival, Vladimir Putin, to share a rare insight into the Ukraine war.
Racking up over 200million views on X, Putin told Carlson he has "never refused" to negotiate a peace deal with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
Reacting to the news of Navalny's death, Political Consultant Alex Deane said there has been a "naivety" of broadcasters and interviewers in their coverage of the Russian war against Ukraine.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Deane blasted Tucker Carlson's "weak and naive" interview with Putin, and following Navalny's death, said he "can't imagine how Carlson must be feeling".
Deane told GB News: "He goes over and becomes what can only be called a useful idiot for Putin's regime, and allows him to give this bizarre sprawling interview where when he's asked why did you invade Ukraine, says well let's take us back to the 1300s and the Black Death.
"He goes talks about the gum drop smiles on the streets of Russia and how happy people are in the supermarkets and so forth. And in the very week that pathetic interview drops, Putin's main opposition is murdered in custody."
Host Emily Carver highlighted the "dark irony" of Tucker Carlson's interview following the news, after being criticised for being "too soft" in his interview by Putin himself.

Commentator Benjamin Butterworth agreed with their thoughts, responding: "I think the vast majority of the world's media were not so naive as Tucker Carlson was. And I wasn't against him doing the interview, it's about two hours long and lots of people have watched it by this point.
"But the fact is that he didn't challenge Putin. He was naive to his instincts, and there's no doubt, Soviet countries are absolutely fascinating, the architecture is incredible.
"But to focus on that as he did is a mistake, because you know what is going on in Ukraine, it is in a very perilous position."
