Harry sported a casual look with an open-necked white shirt, chinos, and brown suede shoes.

Meghan opted for a white Ralph Lauren top with long white trousers, accessorised with a silver necklace and chrome clutch bag.

The bookshop's name was reportedly inspired by a quip made by Harry at the launch party for his memoir 'Spare' last year.

During the event, Prince Harry showcased his sense of humour when asked for book recommendations.

According to Town & Country magazine, the Duke "silently pointed to his memoir Spare" in response to the query.

The prince's autobiography is prominently featured in the shop's "Our Local Authors" display, alongside Meghan's children's book The Bench.

Victoria Jackson, one of Godmothers' founders, revealed she has known the Sussexes since their move to California in 2020.

She expressed gratitude for their support, stating: "Seeing them be able to come here and be in a safe space, it's what we want it to be.

The Duchess of Sussex said during the event: "Thank you for not just creating the space, but for holding the space for so many people to feel seen through the pages. Either in laughter, or grief, or in feeling less alone."

Meghan made a swift exit after the event, citing the need to prepare dinner for her children, Archie and Lilibet.
