GB News presenter Martin Daubney says he was left “confused and exasperated” by Sadiq Khan’s lengthy silence after a weekend of violence at the Notting Hill Carnival.
The London Mayor told GB News that the violence over the weekend was “unacceptable” after the Metropolitan Police confirmed 349 arrests were carried out.
Speaking on the People’s Channel, Martin questioned why it took so long for the Mayor to speak out.
“Even as a 32-year-old woman lay in hospital fighting for her life on Monday, Sadiq Khan did not comment on the carnage at the Carnival”, he said.

“Instead, he took to social media to talk about the new memorial he has commissioned for victims of the Transatlantic slave trade.
“Then on Monday, Mayor Khan ignored the elephant in the room and tweeted about London-based beavers that are improving our water quality.

“At 9pm that evening, the Met posted there had been three stabbings with one nearly fatal. Nothing at all from Khan about the violence that marred the weekend.”
Martin went on to say the state of affairs are “astonishing”, saying he has been left “confused and exasperated” by the perceived lack of action from Khan.
The Mayor of London has now spoken out to send his well-wishes to four people still in hospital.
He also paid tribute to the police officers injured over the weekend.

Khan insisted that the behaviour “did not reflect” the majority of people who celebrated peacefully at the annual event over the weekend.
A spokesperson for the Mayor of London told GB News: “The Mayor’s thoughts are with the families of the four people who are in hospital as well as the police officers who were injured during the weekend.
“This violence is simply unacceptable and does not reflect the majority of people who celebrated peacefully over the weekend.
“The Mayor would like to pay tribute to the hard work of the organisers and all our brilliant police officers and emergency service personnel for everything they did to help Londoners this weekend."
