Nigel Farage shut down a Just Stop Oil campaigner after they hit back at plans for the group to be forced to pay compensation.
The proposals, set to be backed by British Government, would see individuals, businesses or institutions who can prove that they have suffered from an illegal protest receive compensation from the climate change group.
Appearing on GB News, Barrister and Just Stop Oil campaigner Paul Powlesland said the plans might "benefit" the group, as it will "force people to go through a legal process to get compensation", and they will have to "actually sit and consider who is causing the disruption here".
Powlesland asked Nigel: "Is it these people standing up for their children and their grandchildren's future, or is it their government that is betraying them by not taking proper climate action?"

Nigel hit back stating that Just Stop Oil's cause "alienates a huge number of people", and their demonstrations are mostly made up of protesters that are "middle class, privately educated, with names like Jocasta and Benjamin".
The GB News host fumed: "They tied themselves to gantries on the M25 in their gap year or whatever - how are you helping your cause?"
Defending the group's actions amid recent acquittals in court, Powlesland explained: "Ordinary people are actually sitting up and noticing, maybe these people have a point.
"They are acquitting people because they actually hear the evidence in court about climate change and realise that the far greater danger is not people bravely standing up to take action, the far greater danger is the inaction of our Government."

Nigel blasted Powlesland's "nonsense" response and claimed that the juries are instead "scared of being attacked by the mob".
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Nigel stated: "This is just nonsense. We have reduced carbon dioxide emissions by more than any other Western government."
Highlighting a recent incident in which two pensioners destroyed the glass casing of the Magna Carta in the British Library, Nigel asked the campaigner if they "should be in prison for the rest of their lives" and they are "clearly around the twist".
Powlesland defended the protesters, hitting back: "She's a female vicar in a Church of England. She's not around the twist, I've read her books.
"She's a deeply heartfelt activist who understands that her moral duty is to stand up."

Criticising his defence of the elderly protesters, Nigel asked "where is the limit" on the damage Just Stop Oil are willing to cause.
Powlesland stated: "I personally don't do actions that are criminal. I think the far greater harm caused to our country is not from shattering a display case, but from not taking the actions that we need to take over climate change."
Nigel was in disagreement with Powlesland, concluding: "With that last sentence, I rest my case. I think you've made the case for me."
