It follows a global tech outage that caused chaos around the world yesterday

A National Lottery app outage has left thousands of Britons unable to access results or buy tickets.

The reports began at around 8pm yesterday evening, just hours after a global tech outage caused chaos across the world.

More than 2,800 issues were reported this morning, with complaints peaking at 8am.

Customers have been unable to use their apps and have struggle accessing the website too.

Around 54 per cent of the issues are related to the app, with around 39 per cent related to the site.

The majority of problems registered are located in London, Manchester and Glasgow.

Those wishing to buy a ticket for tonight's draw are in a spot of bother and will have to wait until the issue is resolved - if it is in time.

However, they can also buy tickets in person by going to their local terminal.

A spokesperson said: "Due to a technical issue, The National Lottery Website and Mobile Apps are currently unavailable.

"Our technical teams are working hard to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

"In the meantime, players can visit one of our 40,000 National Lottery retailers to purchase their tickets and check results.
