Officers were forced to use a Taser after being 'confronted' by a trio in the airport's car park
Three police officers have been injured following an altercation at Manchester Airport on Wednesday.
Officers said they were "confronted" and attacked as they investigated an abandoned, uninsured car at the airport's Terminal Two yesterday morning.
Three suspects - one man and two women - have been arrested on suspicion of police assault.
Police said they were forced to use a Taser on the suspects, all three of whom have been bailed in the wake of the incident.
Officers were "assaulted" as they inspected a car at one of Terminal Two's car parks
A Greater Manchester Police statement called the alleged assaults "unacceptable" just weeks after another altercation at the same airport.
The force's statement continued: "At around 7.15am, patrolling officers inspected an abandoned vehicle in an unauthorised space at Manchester Airport.
"While conducting enquiries - which found the vehicle was uninsured - officers were confronted by a man during which three of our unarmed officers were assaulted and left with injuries.
"A Taser was deployed before three people - a man and two women - were taken to custody on suspicion of police assault.

It follows the case of an officer's kicking and stamping on the head of 19-year-old Fahir Amaaz in July, in the Terminal Two car park.
Video of the incident had gone viral online before a second video emerged of the moments leading up to the "stamp" in which Amaaz and his brother, Muhammad Amaad, 25, appear to throw punches at three officers.
Regarding that incident, GMP said four men remain on police bail, while officers have submitted a "comprehensive file of evidence" to the Crown Prosecution Service as an investigation continues.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has said a GMP constable was under criminal investigation for assault in connection with the brothers' arrests, while a second police officer is the subject of a criminal investigation over an alleged assault.
