An antisemitic mob has targeted Jewish passengers at a Russian airport as terrifying footage heightens concerns about safety in the UK ahead of an emergency Cobra meeting on Britain’s “accelerated” terror threat.
Footage from the mostly Muslim region of Dagestan showed hundreds of thugs storm Makhachkala airport on Sunday evening, with many waving Palestinian flags and bellowing antisemitic chants.
At least 60 people were arrested after chaos broke out when the mob went in search of Jewish passengers disembarking from a flight arriving from war-torn Israel.
The disturbing scenes from Dagestan circulated on social media as the number of antisemitic hate crimes in the United Kingdom continues to soar.
The figure is continuing to rise, with Commander Kyle Gordon pointing out there had been 408 antisemitic incidents recorded in London so far this month.
The total stood at just 28 during the same period in 2022.
Islamophobic offences in London also witnessed an increase of 140 per cent over the same period.

Police have responded to a variety of incidents, including at pro-Palestine protests.
The Metropolitan Police has also moved to bolster the number of officers patrolling schools and synagogues.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman will convene a Cobra meeting today to discuss the UK’s terror threat with national security officials and police chiefs.

The threat level in England, Wales and Scotland is “substantial”, meaning that a terrorist attack is likely.
It has been at this level since February 9 last year, when it was lowered from “severe”, meaning highly likely.
Benedict Spence, who regularly appears on GB News, said: “From London to Dagestan: it isn’t about Israel, it’s about Jews.”

Andrew Willshire added: “There isn't that big a gap between what we see in London and what we see here in Dagestan, or in Moscow.
“People literally hunting Jews. This is exactly why Israel exists and why it must win this current war.”
Conservative commentator Bella Wallersteiner also wrote: “Mobs breaking into the airport in Dagestan, Russia looking for Jews to lynch after learning that a flight from Israel was arriving.
“This is a modern day pogrom. A reminder of why we must all fight for Israel’s existence.”
