British woman found dead in mysterious circumstances on beach of holiday hotspot

The body of a British woman has been found on a beach in India as police launch an investigation into the mysterious tragedy.
A group of locals spotted the 46-year-old near a church complex on Agonda beach close to the city of Canacona, in southern Goa.
It has been reported that the woman was trying to climb a wall and fell which resulted in a broken collarbone.
Police found her with her mobile phone and other possessions.

Detectives are unsure how long she lay injured for before she was found dead.
Police inspector Chandrakant Gawas said: "She was found with no injuries, her clothes and possessions including mobile phone and identity documents were intact.
"We do not suspect foul play. We can comment on the cause of death only after the postmortem."
The woman was a frequent visitor to Goa and was said to be travelling with friends, local media have said.

South Goa superintendent of police Abhishek Dhania added: "Her friends and family have been informed of the incident.
"The consulate and embassy too have been kept in the loop.
"The body will be handed over to the relatives after the completion of formalities."
Her body will undergo a post-mortem examination at the district hospital in Margao town.
Police said the woman's body was found near Canacona, which is located close to the picturesque beaches of Palolem and Patnem.
Goa is a popular winter sun hotspot for visitors from the UK.
It is understood that the woman had been living in a rented house in Agonda at the time of her death.
