Harry Potter and Carry On star Leslie Phillips died 'peacefully in his sleep yesterday aged 98', his agent Jonathan Lloyd has confirmed.
The veteran actor's death was announced on Wednesday after previously surviving two strokes.
Mr Phillips voiced the sorting hat in the Harry Potter movies, including the first film 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' and the last 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2'.
While he was also known for the "Ding Dong", "Well, Hello" and "I Say" catchphrases in the Carry On movies.

Mr Phillips was made an OBE in the 1998 Birthday Honours and was promoted to CBE in the 2008 New Year Honours.
Following news of his passing, Mr Phillips' wife Zara Carr paid tribute, saying: “I've lost a wonderful husband and the public has lost a truly great showman.
"He was quite simply a national treasure. People loved him.
"He was mobbed everywhere he went.
"When we married he cheekily introduced me to the Press as royalty, insisting I was the new Zara Phillips and that I was related to the Queen."
While actor Stuart Antony added: "The wonderful Leslie Phillips CBE has left us. Aged 98.
"A true gentleman, fantastic actor and the nicest man I’ve ever met. His stories were the best.. RIP Leslie Phillips."
Fellow actor Sanjeev Bhaskar wrote on Twitter: "One of the wonderful elements of doing The Kumars 42 was combining guests like here, Madness and the wonderful Leslie Phillips, who couldn't have been more of a gent. A truly warm, funny and gentle man. RIP Leslie Phillips."
