Eamonn Holmes is throwing his support behind a new charity Christmas campaign to help raise money for man’s best friend

GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes has called for his followers to support the K-9 Angels charity, which rescues dogs in need.

Dog loving Eamonn will be hosting a charity carol concert in West London next month, in support of the cause.

The event will feature performances from celebrities, and S Club 7’s Jo O’Meara and Jon Lee who will be headliners at the event.

Ahead of the charity concert on December 5, Eamonn was joined by two of the charity's founders, Pola Pospieszalska and Victoria Featherstone Pearce, to sing Away in a Manger.

Along with fellow founder Anneka Tanaka, the charity aims to fight against needless animal suffering in the UK and worldwide.

Eamonn told GBNews.com: “This is a wonderful charity and I'd urge GB News viewers and listeners to support it if they can.

"I realise times are tough for us all but whatever support you might be able to offer can help make a big difference to the lives of these wonderful animals.

"The main aim is to sell tickets and raise money to keep the Angels' work going."

Eamonn featured in a previous video, released in September, with singer Jo after she got in touch two years ago to express sympathy over his health problems, saying that she had suffered with the same excruciating pain.

He stroked a dog called Bella in the video and asked his followers to adopt the dog, as his mobility issues meant that he could not.

Mezzo Soprano Friederike Krum, who will also perform at the event in December, said: “I’m honoured to be able to help such an amazing organisation and am looking forward to performing.”

K-9 Angels is on a mission to improve the quality of life and alleviate the suffering of our canine friends in the UK and abroad.

They bridge the gap between dog rescuers and people who want to give a loving home to one.

The charity runs medical programmes, including a spaying and neutering campaign, food, materials, shelter and medical aid.

It is dedicated to ending the abuse of dogs worldwide and ensuring that they can live the happy and healthy lives they deserve.

K-9 Angels also runs a shelter in Romania which is helping to set the standard for care there by providing a warm and safe sanctuary for rescued dogs until they find their forever home.

The charity’s name was inspired by a little dog named Angel, who was abandoned in a forest in Romania and left starving in a cardboard box.

It is supported by donations which make a huge difference in helping to rescue, care for and rehome dogs in need.
