The Foreign Secretary gave his keynote speech at Kew Gardens Tuesday stating the UK must use “all levers at our disposal” to tackle the climate crisis

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy vowed to place climate action and nature at the heart of Britain's foreign policy during a speech on Tuesday.

In his first keynote speech as foreign secretary, Lammy framed climate change and the nature crisis as the defining geopolitical challenge of the era and warned it was a worse problem than terrorism.

In an exclusive clip to members, GB News presenters Bev Turner and Andrew Pierce called Lammy a "useful idiot" for his remarks on climate change.

During his speech, Lammy said: "The threat may not feel as urgent as a terrorist or an imperialist autocrat, but it is more fundamental. It is systemic, pervasive and accelerating towards us."

Bev Turner and Andrew Pierce blast David Lammy: 'He's a useful idiot!'

Pierce responded by saying: "It's an outrage because he's saying, can you believe it, that climate change poses a bigger and greater threat to all of us than terrorism and autocratic leaders?

"Have you not heard of what Vladimir Putin is doing? Have you not heard of what happened in Manchester or the Manchester Arena? It's offensive and stupid."

Turner added: "He's sort of a bit of a useful idiot is what I'm concluding about David Lammy.

"Because there are loads of people behind the scenes making a huge amount of money out of this green agenda and it takes people like him to listen to them, to believe them, to believe their version of the science and believe there are not two sides to the story.

"And to then stand on the stage like this on a global stage, and talk about the fact that we have to change the way that we live in this country. I'm not saying climate isn't changing. I'm not saying the climate isn't warming, but how much of that is man made?

"And the cost benefit analysis of what we're prepared to do to offset that? I don't think we've had that conversation."

Lammy also announced he was "firing a starting gun" on Labour's pledge to build a global clean power alliance.

The UK will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and technologies to help more countries decarbonise.

The foreign secretary described the Tories as “climate dinosaurs” as he branded the previous administration a “fossil fuel government”.

Pierce added: "It tells you a lot about this government's priorities."

On a side note, Pierce joked: "By the way, did you seem him earlier. The foreign secretary was wearing training shoes. I'm sorry, it's not a good look with a suit. It look ridiculous. So smarten up, foreign secretary."
