Metropolitan Police detectives are examining whether a drive-by shooting and a knife attack in Brixton during the early hours of yesterday morning may be connected.
The two violent incidents occurred roughly an hour apart and approximately 700 metres from each other in south London, leaving two men fighting for their lives.
Gunfire erupted on Coldharbour Lane shortly after 1am, injuring four people, whilst a man was discovered with stab wounds on Acre Lane at around 2.17am.
Both a 25-year-old shooting victim and the 33-year-old stabbing victim remain in life-threatening condition in hospital.
Officers received reports of shots being discharged from a vehicle on Coldharbour Lane at 1.14am on Saturday, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Four individuals sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
Among the wounded, a 25-year-old man is currently in a critical state.
The remaining three victims, aged 21, 47 and 70, suffered injuries that have been assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

Police were seen combing through a grassy area near the Southwyck House estate on Coldharbour Lane during Saturday evening.
A local resident indicated the shooting may have taken place during a barbecue gathering on the green space.
Approximately an hour after the shooting, police were summoned to Acre Lane following reports of a stabbing at 2.17am.
A 33-year-old man was discovered at the scene suffering from multiple knife wounds.

He was rushed to hospital where his condition remains life-threatening.
Moh John, a 45-year-old employee at Payless Food & Wine supermarket near Southwyck House estate, described the chaotic scenes: "I was putting something there and I heard the noises.
"It was busy, there was a party. I saw the people run away. But then I saw the people, some people try to come in the shop and I locked the door."
He said those seeking refuge inside appeared frightened and he kept the entrance secured for some time before reopening.
Another resident, Robert, 40, said: "I think it happened at the barbecue. It was packed. I usually feel safe around here, people know each other and get on."
Officers have yet to make any arrests in connection with either attack.
