Angry motorists have lashed out at E10 fuel, with people describing it as “rubbish for my car” while another person said he is “returning to E5”.
E10 became standard petrol grade in the UK in September last year, but several people are now hitting out at the fuel.
Justin Time said on Twitter: “Any other motorists noticed their cars running rough on E10 fuel now the weather is turning cold?
“I’m returning to E5 ….at least until the planet warms up.”

While another person explained: “I bought an '08 Ford Focus for my son a while ago, for when he passes his test.
“It's usually used a couple of times a week just to keep it running, and has never had any problems starting.
“Two weeks ago, after putting E10 in, it was left standing for a week during wet weather.
“When I came to use it again it wouldn't start. It sounded like there was no fuel in it.
“Mindful of the stories about E10, I put in a gallon of E5 from a can, and it started first time,” they told the Express.
A third person added: “This stuff is rubbish for my car.
“Once I've finished this tank I'm going to have to pay out more for the better stuff, though I've always been fine with the cheaper options before.
“My car has no guts pulling away, stalls easily, and struggles to reach 60mph, yet it's a 1.8 engine.”
While other drivers have hit said their cars were working better under E10.
Juan Sinclair told the Express: “My '05 Citroen has the high-performance TU5JP4 engine, all original with 110K+ on the clock and it loves E10.
“Smoother running under 3000rpm, no loss of power and because I'm not down-shifting as much better fuel consumption. Moral - buy a decent car in the first place?”
While another motorist added: “I've got a very similar car - 2005 plate Mercedes A-Class 1.5L (Renault engine) - absolutely fine on E10."
“Since switching to E10 my fuel efficiency has gone up not down too."
