Nationwide Building Society is the UK’s largest building society
Nationwide Building Society has announced it will update all of its branches with new branding, after promising to keep all branches open.
The building society said all of its 605 branches will receive investment for their "most significant" rebrand in 36 years, as it protects face-to-face service.
The pledge comes amid widespread bank branch closures seen over recent years.
Debbie Crosbie, Chief Executive of Nationwide Building Society, said: “Nationwide offers a large-scale alternative to the shareholder-owned banks.

“As a major challenger, we are committed to offering a good way to bank for our customers through better service, value and fairness.
“Our rebrand is the most significant in 36 years and ensures we continue to be relevant for the needs of customers today and tomorrow.”
Nationwide extended its Branch promise in June, meaning it won’t leave any town or city in which it is based until at least 2026.
Nationwide Building Society returned £340million of its profit to 3.4 million eligible members through its Fairer Share payment, with each qualifying person getting £100 each.
As well as updating branches, all payment card and customer communications will be updated to feature the new branding.
Banks and building societies have closed 5,628 branches since January 2015, according to research by Which?.
Many banks and building societies have blamed the closures on a growing number of customers moving to online and mobile banking, and using branches less for their personal banking.
GB News has compiled a list of the bank branch closures taking place this year.
Nationwide Building Society has said its commitment to keeping its sites open means it now has the largest number of branches in the UK compared to other banking brands, according to CACI data.
Research, conducted by Censuswide for Nationwide, found two thirds of people (63 per cent) value their local branch, with face-to-face service given as the top reason.
