DWP to overhaul Universal Credit, state pension and PIP payment dates over Christmas - full list of benefits
GB NEWS
The DWP is reminding Universal Credit, PIP and state pension claimants of potential changes to when they will be paid this Christmas
Britons in receipt of benefit payments, including Universal Credit, the state pension and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) could be paid later this Christmas and New Year.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced changes to payment dates for multiple benefits over the festive period.
The changes will affect those receiving state pension payments, PIP, Universal Credit and other benefits.
Claimants who are due to receive payments on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day will be paid on different dates.
The temporary adjustments aim to ensure benefit recipients receive their payments before the bank holidays.
Those due to receive benefit payments on December 25, 26 or 27 will instead receive their money on December 24.
As it stands, the DWP has confirmed that these earlier payment arrangements will affect benefits due between December 25 and January 2. Recipients should receive their payments automatically on the revised dates.
Claimants are being reminded of the changes to avoid being hurt financially this Christmas. The DWP advises claimants to contact the office that pays their benefit if they do not receive their payment on the scheduled day.
