Speaking to GB News Community Editor Michael Heaver in Westminster, Tory MP Tom Hunt was asked if the illegal migrant boats can be stopped without leaving the ECHR.
In response to that question, Tom Hunt said: "There's some real big issues here.
"I mean obviously this is about the small boats, it's about Rwanda.
"But I think it also touches upon issues of sovereignty. So kind of connection to the Brexit debate there as well, which ultimately is our elected Parliament truly sovereign or actually do outdated international conventions, do foreign courts have the ability to stymie the express win of our Parliament which is ultimately the express win of the British people?
"So I do I I think that I think it's going to be difficult for us to deliver around the scheme. It's going to be difficult for us to properly have a deterrent and tackle the small boats without at the very least derogating from the ECHR in a fairly significant way."
