Tesco will close two stores in the next week

Tesco follows a number of retailers closing stores this month.

It has shared two large branches will shut next week, on September 15.

The decision to close stores was related to low customer demand in those areas.

Shoppers will still be able to pick up their Tesco shopping at nearby locations.

A sign on the Sheffield store said: "This store will permanently close on 15th September. Your nearest Tesco store is Southey."

A similar notice was posted outside the Wakefield store.

Both stores were opened to replace Jack's locations after the budget stores were axed by parent company Tesco.

There are thousands of Tesco branches in the UK, so shoppers should have no trouble finding alternative locations.

A number of other retailers have shared plans to close stores this month and towards the end of the year.
