Resist the urge to "buy the same item over and over and over again"
Personal style is just that - personal - and women should wear whatever makes them feel confident, comfortable and happy. But despite this, it's not uncommon to pick up bad style habits over the years.
According to a content creator for women over 50, middle-aged ladies often make poor choices. She claimed that women over 50 are "probably making the fashion mistakes" of getting too complacent with their style.
Deirdre Nicholas from 50 & Fabulous with My Friend Deirdre urged ladies over 50 to stop making the fashion faux pas of "buying the same item over and over and over again".
The style-savvy influencer revealed that she is a victim of this, showing her YouTube viewers a collection of several cream blazers from her wardrobe.
'I love a cream or an ivory jacket or cardigan, but honestly, I don't think I need any more'

She said: "I'm definitely guilty of this - as you can see. I mean I love a cream or an ivory jacket or cardigan, but honestly, I don't think I need any more.
"You find something that you love and you feel comfortable in - and you just buy it again and again."
This is a very easy mistake to make and a habit to fall into. Obviously, when you find cuts, colours and styles that suit you, you want to keep wearing them.
However, wearing the same type of thing day in and day out may start to look a little drab.
But this is a very fixable issue. If you have six pink cardigans in essentially the same shade, for example, it might be worth picking a different colour for your seventh.
This way, you can find new looks that suit you and keep things interesting in your wardrobe.
Another "fashion mistake" women over 50 are probably making is not having enough everyday clothes.
Many are guilty of splurging on items for special occasions but not on items they need to wear Monday to Friday.
Deirdre said that she is very guilty of this but added that it's no good having a jaw-dropping dress for one occasion and then "pottering about every day in a sweatshirt and old joggers because I don't have anything else".
Because we spend most of our time in "everyday" wear, it's important we have enough outfits.

She added: "And why not select pieces that make us look and feel like the very best version of ourselves at the same time?"
Now this doesn't require spending a lot of money - just selecting pieces you love and feel comfortable in.
Deirdre shared a second piece of advice for middle-aged ladies, revealing the frumpy outfit choice she would never wear as a woman over 50 - it makes you look like a granny. She warned women to watch out for all-pastel looks.
