The safest places to live across the UK have been named
Safety and security is on everyone's mind when deciding where to live.
Some parts of the UK are safer to live in than others, based on crime records in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The research, compiled by HomeViews, found Shetland Islands to be the safest place to set up camp.
It had a crime rate of 19.9 per 1,000 people in the data used.
Shetland is listed as one of the best places to visit by Tripadvisor.
It is known for its stunning scenery and many of the natural attractions have 4 or 5 out of 5 stars on Tripadvisor.
Speaking of the Hermaness National Nature Reserve, one reviewer called it "unmissable" while another said it was "simply glorious".
Locations in Scotland dominated the list, with East Renfrewshire voted the second safest and Aberdeen the third safest.
East Renfrewshire received a crime rating of 22.7 crimes per 1,000 while Aberdeen had 31.3 crimes per 1,000 people.
Wiltshire was the safest place in England and Ards & North Down was the safest in Northern Ireland. No locations in Wales made the top 10 list.
This comes as the cheapest place to buy a house in the UK was revealed, with average prices under £140,000.
Anyone worried about the security in their home can do a few things around the house to help deter burglars.
