Increasing your property's value may seem like a huge undertaking, but it doesn't have to be too taxing - or expensive.
According to a consumer expert who specialises in offering advice on home improvements, focusing on two specific rooms is the best use of your time and money.
Consumer expert Jane Hawkes told GB News: "Home improvements can feel like a huge task, particularly if you are on a tight budget.
"But transforming your home to increase your property’s value doesn’t need to involve splashing huge amounts of cash.

"With a little bit of creativity, a well-thought-out plan, and an understanding of some basic principles of design, you can absolutely revitalise your space without emptying your wallet."
Jane advised Britons to turn their attention to their kitchens and bathrooms. She said: "When you are looking to make improvements to your home which will boost your property’s value, focusing on areas like the kitchen and bathroom can make the biggest difference.
"These areas often yield the highest return on investment, both in terms of value and satisfaction.
"In the kitchen you can undertake projects like repainting cabinets, replacing old knobs and handles, or adding a feature wall or splashback, which can refresh a tired-looking room.
"Updating lighting features or adding unique features like under-cabinet lighting can brighten up a space, making it feel warm and inviting."
As for the loo, while this part of the house is far from "glamorous", it is totally "essential" to any home.
The expert said: "The loo is a key area where you can make a big impression. A cracked - or worse still, stained - loo seat is not a good look.
"Replacing it can save embarrassment and improve the overall look of a bathroom.
"People will overlook a slightly dated bathroom suite if you show them the appeal of a few cheap solutions."
Another way Britons can transform their home on a budget before selling is by giving their home a fresh lick of paint.

She advised: "Swap bright or deep colours on walls for a neutral hue - like pale grey or sandy tones - but don’t be too bland.
"A splash of colour on alcoves, cushions or cabinets will add a little interest without making a buyer think they will need to redecorate straight away.
"The aim of the game is to allow buyers to move straight in and add their own personality in time."
According to an estate agent, the "easiest" way to increase your property's value is with one paint colour.
