Britons warned of recalled Amazon product that presents 'serious risk of fire or explosion'

Britons have been informed that a mains power supply for a neck massager sold through Amazon poses a fire risk.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a recall for the product after identifying significant safety concerns.

Product Description: 3-pin adapter supplied with an InvoSpar Massager. Affected products were sold between 2017 and 2021. The massage unit is unaffected.
The product did not meet the necessary safety requirements
OPSS
Officials identified poor quality connections to both the input and output of the power supply as primary concerns.
The device's lack of proper safety features and substandard construction methods led to its immediate withdrawal from the market.
The OPSS stated: "The product presents a serious risk of fire as the power supply (model TD1220) supplied with the InvoSpar JC-668 neck massager was found to have poor quality connections to the input and output of the power supply, with wires soldered directly to the power circuit board with no secondary fixing.
"This could cause the product to short circuit, presenting a risk of fire or explosion.
"No fuse was present on the input to protect the product from overcurrent related faults, further presenting a risk of fire, explosion or electric shock.
"The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016."
The product has been recalled from end users. Those affected should contact support@invospa.com to arrange for a replacement power supply.
When contacting the company, customers will need to provide either their order ID or photos of their adapter to process the replacement.
