'Create a youthful, fresh look': The makeup method which can make you look years younger

Women have been told to only apply makeup on specific areas of their face to create a younger look
The quest for a more youthful appearance remains a constant priority for many women, with makeup techniques serving as powerful tools in their anti-ageing arsenal.
Beauty expert at Oriflame Lydia Smeds spoke exclusively to GB News and shared her insights on achieving a more youthful appearance through makeup application.
Her method focused on lesser-known techniques that can help create a fresh-faced look.
The first step is to prepare the skin, making sure that it is well hydrated. Use a primer or moisturiser with hyaluronic acid before applying makeup as it plumps the skin and softens fine lines.
When it comes to foundation, Lydia recommended mixing a drop of serum or facial oil with a facial mist to achieve a natural, lightweight finish that will not settle into fine lines.
She said: "Choose a light-to-medium coverage foundation or a tinted moisturiser to avoid a heavy, cakey look."
For blush application, Lydia advised using cream formulas placed higher on the cheeks towards the temples for a lifting effect.
She encouraged using a soft, neutral-toned cream contour below the cheekbones and jawline for subtle definition.
On the eyes, Lydia said: "Line your upper waterline with a dark brown or black eyeliner to make lashes look fuller without a heavy liner look. Use neutral, satin-finish shades with a subtle shimmer to brighten the eyelids without emphasising texture."
This will help set up the mascara application where the beauty expert advised to only apply to the upper lashes to open up the eyes without weighing them down.
For brows, Lydia recommended avoiding harsh definitions and instead using a tinted brow gel or fine brow pencil to create soft, natural-looking strokes.
Once this is done and settled, the expert suggested a clever lip liner trick by slightly overlining just the cupid's bow and centre of the bottom lip with a neutral liner to create subtle fullness.

She added: "Do not use a matte lipstick as it can make lips look dry. Instead, go for a creamy, satin, or glossy finish for a plump, youthful look."
When it comes to highlighter application, Lydia said to use liquid or cream formulas on the high points of the face such as the cheekbones, brow bone, and bridge of the nose to create natural luminosity.
With the final finishing touches, she advised using setting powder strategically, applying it only to areas prone to shine like the T-zone, while leaving other areas fresh and glowy.
For those concerned about dark circles, Lydia suggested using a peach or salmon-toned colour corrector under the eyes before applying concealer.
