Taking collagen is important, especially as you age, as this protein depletes as you get older
While an effective skin care regime is paramount for beautiful skin at any age, it's also possible to eat and drink your way to an excellent complexion.
According to a neuroscientist, the right diet can work wonders for anti-ageing, even going as far as "reversing wrinkles".
Taking to TikTok, Robert Love (@robertwblove) advised people to stock up on broccoli, wild-caught salmon and collagen protein.
Collagen - a protein that helps form the connective tissues of the body, including the ligaments, muscles, tendons and skin - depletes with age. In fact, by the time women are 55, they have lost approximately 50 per cent of the collagen in their skin.

Explaining the importance of combatting this depletion, the neuroscientist said: "Research shows that women who take a collagen protein supplement have stronger bones, stronger muscles and fewer wrinkles on their face.
"So not only is collagen great for your skin, it's also good for your bone density and muscle strength as well."

Collagen may also have excellent hair-boosting benefits. Indeed, one model revealed that her secret to great hair is collagen.
The experts at the skin care and cosmetic clinic, Victorian Dermal Group, confirmed the benefits of collagen for the skin.
They said: "Do collagen supplements reduce wrinkles? Does taking collagen prevent wrinkles and skin wrinkling? In a way, yes.
"For sensitive skin or skin that is starting to age and weaken, ingesting collagen peptides can improve hydration and skin elasticity.
"Taking collagen as you age is especially important, as many of us experience decreased collagen production over time.
"Collagen fibres have also been proven to reduce wrinkles and dryness in your skin, thereby slowing the ageing process and resulting in improved skin elasticity.
"For women, taking three to 10 grams of collagen derivatives per day for roughly 70 days greatly improved skin hydration."
