Homemade face masks can help reduce the signs of ageing

Avocados emerged as more than just a superfood for diets - they proved to be a wonder for skin health as well.

Rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants, avocados offer an affordable and natural skin care solution that nourishes and hydrates even the driest skin.

Beauty experts at Fresha claimed this simple fruit can transform skin during the autumn months.

The fatty acids in avocados provide key nutrients that help skin stay hydrated and healthy for longer. Additionally, their high vitamin E content aid in slowing visible signs of ageing, whilst vitamin A supports effective cell repair.

The skin care gurus hailed avocado oil as their secret weapon for dry or mature skin. It locks in moisture and boosts elasticity, promoting a smooth, youthful glow, they claimed.

They explained: "Incorporating avocado into your skin care routine is easy. Simply mash up the flesh of a ripe avocado and apply it directly to your face as a nourishing mask."

They recommended leaving the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the nutrients to sink in. Rinse off reveals softer, more supple skin, according to the experts.

For enhanced benefits, the experts suggested mixing avocado with other kitchen ingredients like honey, yoghurt or olive oil for extra moisture and soothing properties.

The experts revealed a simple method for creating homemade avocado oil. They advised mashing two to three ripe avocados and cooking the mixture on low heat for five to 10 minutes.

After cooling and straining, the resulting oil can be stored in an airtight container.

"Apply a small amount to your face after cleansing for a natural, hydrating boost that nourishes and softens your skin," the expert recommended.

This DIY approach offers a cost-effective alternative to expensive creams and serums.
