Elevating your hair care could further the elasticity of your hair, an expert explained
The quality of a person's hair is inextricably linked with their well-being and often, their confidence.
After menopause, however, the body experiences several changes in hormones that significantly impact hair.
Fortunately, several different avenues can help improve the quality of hair on the scalp as oestrogen levels fall.
Speaking to GB News, Pamela Petrorius, CEO at All Shook Up Hair Salons, explained how massaging and washing the scalp can enhance elasticity.

Pamela told GB News: “A morning and evening massage/brushing routine with an appropriate brush will exfoliate dead skin cells from your scalp and also help regulate your natural oils throughout your hair to supply it with nourishment.
“Brushing dry hair will preserve the elasticity,” the expert added. “The quality of hair will depend on the health of its root."
Scalp care is vital to maintaining beautiful hair and the devil is in the detail when it comes to refining your shower routine.
“Scalp brushing is a necessity to stimulate oxygen and blood flow to your scalp," explained Pamela.
“All that hard work you put into eating a healthy diet needs a bit of help to send those nutrients to your scalp to nourish the follicles on your head and feed your hair.”
According to Pamela, double cleansing is another beneficial hack for healthier hair.
“A thorough cleaning routine involves using products for their maximum benefit with double cleansing, leaving the second application on long enough for the science of the product to take effect,” she said.
The expert continued: “This cleaning routine requires three to five minutes of product absorption for maximum results, followed by an appropriate conditioner to seal down the cuticle.”
Rinsing the hair in cold water will also ensure the cuticle is sealed down after coming out of the shower.
“Cold water rinsing is beneficial in many ways, [as] it also contributes to a healthy nervous system, which has a direct effect on the quality of your hair,” the expert noted.

There is no need to overwash your hair. Simply rinse it daily to remove calcium build-up on the scalp and free radicals advises Pamela.
"Over-washing can strip the natural oils unnecessarily, leaving the hair unbalanced,” added the expert.
As a general rule, keeping the number of hair washes down to one or twice per week is recommended.
This will vary from person to person, however, as different types of hair have different needs.
