The secrets to achieving luscious locks is a combination of four factors, an expert exclusively shared

Maintaining healthy, shiny hair is a goal for many, but achieving it requires more than just a quick wash-and-go.

Speaking to GB News, a hair expert explained that vibrant locks are the result of a holistic approach to hair care.

Expert advice from Klaudia, founder of Hollywood Hair, revealed you must consider various internal and external factors to achieve your best-ever hair.

She said: "Healthy, shiny hair is the result of multiple factors working in harmony, including care, styling habits, diet and overall health. "

Selecting the right hair care products is crucial for maintaining a healthy mane, the expert explained.

She said: "For example, if your hair is damaged or coloured, opt for deeply hydrating and reparative products, like those containing argan or coconut oil.

"For dull, lifeless hair, look for treatments rich in proteins and keratin, which restore shine and vitality."

There are plenty of shampoos, conditioners and other hair treatments on the market, but not all of these will be suitable for every hair type. Consider your hair texture, condition, length and goals when choosing products.

Another thing that women must do to achieve shiny, healthy hair is to protect it from heated styling tools. These can damage and dry out your hair, making it more brittle and prone to breakages.

Klaudia added: "Always apply a thermal protection spray before using styling tools like a hair dryer, curling iron, or straightener, as well as before sun exposure."

The expert stressed the importance of finding the right external products, but people may not realise how much their nutrition affects their hair.

Foods high in protein and vitamins such as biotin, vitamin C, iron and zinc can be particularly beneficial for your hair.

Klaudia added: "Diet plays a significant role too; a poor diet will quickly show in the condition of your hair.

"To promote hair health from within, ensure your diet is balanced and full of vitamins. If in doubt, chat with a doctor to address any underlying deficiencies."

How you style your hair will also dramatically change how it looks. An expert shared how some haircuts can even be used as an anti-ageing tool.

A hairstylist shared how women over 50 can look younger with a haircut that disguises ageing.
