He said: "As a dermatologist and trichologist, many people come to me asking how they can make their hair healthier and thicker, as well as promote its growth. Having healthy hair is more than just about appearance; it indicates general health too.
"Many factors influence your hair’s condition such as what you eat, the stress levels in your life, and even the way you manage or style your hair regularly."
You can start by looking at the foods you eat day-to-day. It is worth ensuring you get enough protein in your diet.
The doctor said: "Hair is mostly made from a protein called keratin. Eating enough proteins, such as those found in chicken, fish, eggs, beans and nuts can make your hair stronger."
As well as filling up on high protein foods, Dr Abdullah Hamed listed five vitamins to eat more of for hair growth and strength.
Vitamin A: Helps your scalp produce sebum, which keeps hair moisturised.
B Vitamins (especially Biotin): Important for energy and hair growth.
Vitamin C: Helps produce collagen, which strengthens hair.
Vitamin D: Linked to hair growth; not getting enough can lead to hair loss.Iron: Helps carry oxygen in your blood; low levels can lead to thinning hair.
Zinc: Helps with hair repair and growth.
These vitamins and minerals can be found naturally in foods, including many fruits and vegetables.

Supplements can also be used to help get more of these vitamins into your routine.
However, it is worth checking with a medical professional first if you need to supplement this or if you are already consuming enough of the vitamins.
Another tip to help improve your hair can be done in the shower, according to another expert.
They recommended using gentle, natural shampoos and giving your scalp a massage to promote growth and achieve healthier locks.
