The distinctive fruit drink is being launched in a brand new flavour that is guaranteed to mesmerise fans

Shoppers are flocking to Tesco to get their hands on the latest Vimto flavour to land in the UK, with six-packs selling for just £3.

Fans are itching to try the brand’s new tropical flavour after a shopper announced the discovery on a Facebook group.

The popular drink has become a staple in British households since shooting to fame in 1908 when it was first launched as a medicinal beverage.

It was later rebranded as a soft drink in 1913 and the brand’s name was shortened to Vimto.

The soft drink's new tropical flavour marks a refreshing switch from its original fruit combinations.

Other flavours in Vimto’s flavour portfolio include passion fruit, lychee, mango and a dragon fruit flavour.

“Gotta get me these,” one person wrote, while another quipped: “Ooo bet they’re nice.”

“Heard these are popular drinks during Ramadan too,” a third person quipped.

The latest addition to the repertoire will be available at all stores, with a pack of six mini bottles of 250ml selling for only £3.

Vimto has been a family favourite since its launch, satisfying palates with its original blends of grape, raspberry and blackcurrant juice.

The brand sells a variety of beverages including cordial drinks, fizzy soft drinks and no added sugar ones.

Tesco shoppers have been rejoicing since Heineken announced the revival of Foster's Proper Shandy last month.

The cult 70s drink packs a variety of zesty notes followed by a smooth aftertaste of beer.

Richard Barnes, marketing manager of Foster’s at Heineken UK, commented: “We are thrilled to be launching Foster’s Proper Shandy to the off-trade, delivering something brand new into classic laeger and reigniting interest in the category, not only for existing drinkers but also to help recruit new ones.

Fans have enjoyed a throwback to the 70s after Tesco, Asda and Morrisons resumed their sales of a cult shandy.

Heineken announced its revival of Foster's Proper Shandy in January, marking one of the larger company's first innovations for decades.

Reminiscing the old-school drink, one X user said: “I remember when Fosters brought out Radlers [it] was a refreshing summer drink similar to shandy and much better than the actual brew. I will be trying this.”
