Shoppers have been told of cupboard staples that could pose a health risk

More products have been added to an ongoing food recall as they could contain nuts not mentioned on the label.

This can cause symptoms such as hives, vomiting, shortness of breath and, in extreme cases, death, according to Allergy UK.

The Food Standards Agency said: "Several brands are taking the precautionary step of recalling several spice products that contain mustard.

"They may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

"If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them. Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund."

The added products are mostly sold to British customers online, but last week, Sainsbury's warned customers about products as part of the same recall.

The food warning is part of a larger recall that has been going on for many weeks, with products at popular supermarkets and fast food chains affected.

The recalls are linked to items manufactured by FGS Ingredients Ltd, as many could contain the allergen.

In other recall news, Waitrose curry has been pulled from shelves over "cross-contamination" fears.
