Celebrations have had a makeover for Easter

Celebrations have seen scores of chocolates come and go since the sharing tubs were first introduced in the 1930s.

Britons have long disputed which chocolates are best in each tin, but they will soon see two more contenders added to the mix ahead of Easter.

The confectionery manufacturer has announced its assortment will soon feature Malteaser Mini bunnies and Galaxy mini eggs, in addition to the classics.

The sharing tubs, which have become synonymous with Christmas, will only feature the two additions during Easter.

A typical Celebrations selection offers mini Bounties, Galaxies, Snickers, Twixes, Mars and Milkie Ways.

The Easter pouches will come in 450g packs, hailed as “great for egg hunts”, which can be found in Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

Malteaser bunnies, which are slightly larger than the mini bunnies, are usually bought separately for 55p.

The bunny-shaped chocolates are made with smooth milk chocolate and a malt centre with a crunchy honeycomb.

Chocolate lovers can also get their mini bunnies in milk and white chocolate flavours at select stores.

Galaxy Caramel mini chocolate eggs, on the other hand, are milk chocolate confectionary filled with caramel.

Shoppers have already shared their thoughts on the Easter pouches, and the feedback so far has been positive.

“A great selection of chocolates which provide a perfect alternative to Easter eggs for the adults,” wrote one pleased shopper.

Another added: “Wonderful little treats inside.”

It comes as Nestlé has sparked a fierce debate among its fans after discontinuing two of its top-rated treats.

The chocolate maker confirmed last weekend that Breakaway and Yorkie biscuits would soon be scrapped.

The move was quick to stir a reaction from fans, who pleaded for the treats to stay.
