The alcoholic drink has been flying off shelves since it was launched just over a month ago

Aldi has slashed the price of one of its high-quality rosés ahead of the bank holiday, but has warned the drink is already flying off shelves.

The budget supermarket's premium Provence rosé can be snapped up for less than £10 at stores nationwide.

A spokesperson announced: “Supermarket Aldi has announced it will be slashing the price of its viral Chassaux et Fils Sainte Victoire Provence Rosé to just £9.99 from £12.49, 75cl.

“Available now, shoppers should run not walk as the wine has already been flying off the shelves after it launched last month.

“Crafted east of Aix-en-Provence, Aldi’s Chassaux et Fils Saint Victoire Provence Rosé offers ripe characteristics with whispers of floral notes on the palette for a deliciously smooth, luscious and well-balanced rosé.”

The wine was recently featured in Aldi’s undercover stunt where attendees of a royal show jumping event took part in a blind taste test.

“Little did they know, Justin Youraldi, who claimed to be offering samples of his latest collection, was actually undercover, serving up Aldi’s award-winning wines,” said Aldi's spokesperson.

“Promising a high-quality wine at an unbeatable price point, shoppers are sure to save when opting for Aldi’s vino over other expensive brands in the market.”

It added: “Aldi’s NEW Chassaux et Fils Saint Victoire Provence Rosé is available in stores nationwide now."

The drink was dubbed “the drink of summer” by an Aldi worker on social media after it launched last month.

With the bank holiday around the corner, this is the perfect time to slash the price of the popular quencher.

It comes soon after the supermarket recently launched a range of branded tipples for the first time at a budget price.

Shoppers were delighted to discover that the drinks cost just 99p, labelling them “so refreshing”.

One customer said they “would be trying these as soon as”. One social media user said they “loved the passion fruit one”, with another praising the Pina Colada variation.
