Saffron Pastries has issued an urgent recall affecting more than two dozen items across UK shops due to concerns over rodent contamination.
In a statement, the company announced it is pulling 25 products from shelves after identifying what it describes as "physical contamination from pest activity".
The official notice warns that the items present "a safety risk to consumers" and should not be consumed under any circumstances.
The affected range spans cakes, biscuits, fruit slices and Madeira cakes, prompting shoppers to examine any Saffron Pastries products they may have purchased recently.

The recall encompasses a wide variety of baked goods from the Saffron Pastries range.
Cake rusks feature prominently among the withdrawn items, including Original Cake Rusk in both 12 and 18-piece packs, Family Cake Rusk and Family Almond Cake Rusk in 26-piece sizes, and Cake Rusk Soonfi available in 12 and 18-piece formats.
Several biscuit varieties have also been pulled, namely Jam Biscuits, Coconut Biscuits, Almond Biscuits and Pistachio Biscuits, all sold in 12-piece packs.
The recall further extends to numerous slices, including Fruit, Lemon, Vanilla, Angel, Chocolate, Coconut and Almond varieties.
Multiple Madeira cake products are affected, covering Plain, Almond, Fruit, Cherry and Coconut Madeira Slices alongside Twin Pack and Triple Pack Variety Madeira options.
Shoppers who have purchased any of the recalled items are strongly advised against eating them due to the potential health hazard.
Instead, consumers should take the products back to the retailer where they made their purchase to receive a complete refund.
