One woman has shared a daily habit that helped her to lose weight and keep it off

Looking to those who have lost weight is a fantastic way to get inspiration for the best weight loss methods.

A slimmer who shed an impressive 3st 3lb explained that snacking smartly and hitting her daily step count first thing in the morning has helped her slim down.

Melissa Tindall tipped the scales at 14st 9lb in April 2023 when she decided "enough was enough".

The dieter transformed her relationship with food, opting to eat in moderation and stay active every day. Doing this helped her slim down to 11st 6lb within six months.

Melissa explained: "Since I travel 70 per cent of the year for work, it can be super hard to eat on the road, with business dinners, happy hours, etc.

"So I eat in moderation - same for drinking - and I've been able to keep the weight off."

As well as making sure she does not overindulge, the slimmer explained she will prioritise protein and high-protein snacks.

Protein is often praised for helping with weight loss, as foods high in protein are incredibly satiating. This means they will keep dieters feeling full for longer.

Melissa continued: "I can find a lot of good protein snacks in airports. I like beef/turkey jerky, cheese sticks and protein bars."

Eating fewer calories than you are burning off every day is key when losing weight, and an expert recently warned of a common calorie mistake that gets in the way of weight loss.

Another way to increase your daily expenditure, burn more calories and increase how much you can eat while losing weight, is to exercise.

The slimmer explained walking was her preferred type of movement and makes sure to get her steps in every day.

She said she does this by ensuring she walks 7,000 steps first thing every day, and you don't need to go outside to do this. Melissa explained: "Walking 7,000 steps by 7am is something I started back in 2023.

"Ingrid Kick and Burpeegirl are the best, I've been sticking with them throughout my weight loss journey."

She also praised strength training as a tool for keeping her trim, years after her initial weight loss. Melissa explained she also prefers to do this at home and at the gym.

Melissa said: "For weights, I utilise the Fusion workouts via the BodyFX app. I use the weight workouts when I'm home."

For more diet tips, an expert named the "biggest" weight loss mistake those hoping to slim make as they often forget to eat enough of an essential food group.
