Full-fat milk, cheese and yoghurt might be the surprising key to slimming down
Everyone knows that a healthy diet is essential for those on a weight loss journey, but many of us are mistaken when it comes to what is healthy.
A clinical nutritionist revealed a "weird but extremely effective" weight loss tip, encouraging slimmers to reach for full-fat dairy over their low-fat counterparts.
Clinical nutritionist Autumn Bates said on YouTube: "Traditional weight loss advice will tell you to cut calories, eat less and move more. This old-school method will help you to lose weight in the beginning, but it will not help you avoid weight plateaux and weight regain.
"Instead, what we want to focus on is body recomposition. This prioritises losing body fat while maintaining an active and healthy metabolism, in order to make progress and avoid those plateaux and weight regain."
'The goal with food really should be to be nourished and satiated'

When Autumn embarked on her own body recomposition journey post-partum, she implemented a seemingly "strange" diet trick - but it proved effective and helped her maintain great results.
The nutritionist recommended eating full-fat dairy products as opposed to their low-fat counterparts.
Autumn stated that full-fat dairy has been "demonised" for a long time, and claimed that low-fat - and therefore lower calorie - varieties aren't always better for weight loss.
She said: "Low-calorie alone can cause you to feel more hungry and incentivise the body to crave more sugary sweet treats, which obviously work against a weight loss goal.
"Instead, the goal with food really should be to be nourished and satiated. Feeling satiated means that it prevents hunger and cravings.
"It causes your body to raise satiety hormones and tell your brain that you're full, you're satisfied and you don't need to keep eating."
Full-fat dairy is able to satiate the body because it contains two key components that raise satiety levels: protein and fat.
Low-fat dairy does not have the same effect because it only contains one: protein.
Autumn pointed to a study published in the National Library of Medicine which found that eating full-fat diary is better than low-fat dairy for preventing obesity.
The expert added that it is the fat within dairy products that contains most of the nutrients - "specifically vitamin K2, which is crucial for getting calcium out of the arteries and into the bones".

Autumn concluded: "So it's good for both heart and bone health - plus, it just tastes better."
What you eat is evidently important if you want to make a weight loss transformation, but when you eat could also be key.
The nutritionist weighed in on what time slimmers should stop eating to see results.
