Slimmers have been told to start eating more potatoes - although there are strict guidelines for cooking them
When it comes to weight loss, some foods are an absolute must, while others should be avoided at all costs.
According to one nutritionist, there's a key food slimmers should ensure they are stocking up on, with the expert claiming it's "the best on the planet".
Nutritionist and weight loss specialist Emmie Keefe (also known as Healthy Emmie) told people who are trying to lose weight to start eating sweet potatoes. She is a fan of Hawaiian sweet potatoes but there are many varieties of potatoes to choose from.
Emmie said on YouTube: "If you can't find these, you can have any potato for weight loss and there are thousands of different varieties of potatoes - that is not an exaggeration.

"You can do white potatoes, gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, baby red creamers [and] purple potatoes."
According to Emmie, the sweet potato is "the best food on the planet". She said: "The reason why potatoes are the best food for weight loss is because potatoes are the most satiating food."
She pointed to a study called 'The Satiety Index of Common Foods', which rated how filling certain foods are - "and potatoes were off the charts the most satisfying".
When a food is satiating, it causes you to not want to eat any more. The feeling of fullness stops you from reaching for unhealthy snacks throughout the day.
Weight loss experts at Juniper confirmed that sweet potatoes are a great addition to a weight loss diet.
They said: "First up, they’re very high in fibre, especially soluble fibre. Soluble fibre is excellent because it slows down your digestion and helps you feel full, which can curb the urge to snack between meals.
"Research shows that getting just 30 grams of fibre each day can help with weight loss and one cup of sweet potato contains 6.6 grams."
Emmie recommended cooking your chosen potatoes by steaming or baking them.
The "worst" way to cook potatoes, however, is when you add butter, cheese, sour cream and oil.
Adding high-calorie foods to potatoes causes them to become a "weight gain food".
