A London-based fitness coach has taken to Instagram to share his top five low-calorie food recommendations, for those looking to shed a few pounds before the festive season.
Thomas Whitehead, known as @thomasjwhitehead on Instagram, shared his pearls of wisdom on weight loss with his 29,000+ followers.
The advice featured a list of nutrient-dense foods that have "almost zero calories", making them the perfect dietary addition to help you "get in shape".
“First up is not a food but a drink; caffeine," Whitehead explained.

“Not many people know this but caffeine is the number one ingredient in 90 per cent of fat burners due to it being an appetite suppressant."
Whitehead's second tip was white fish.
The lean protein source contains only 85 calories, but an impressive 20.2 grams of protein per 100 grams.
Whitehead went on: “Third on the list is pretty much any green leafy vegetable.
“If you want to know a little cheat code to make fat loss easier, take as much green veg as possible, and pile it onto your plate with your other foods."
His fourth recommendation was egg whites, which he describes as one of the “cleanest proteins out there".
Lastly, Whitehead recommended a snack packed with natural sugars and very few calories to help curb to help curb cravings; berries.
The Instagram post was well-received by Whitehead's followers, with one fan praising his "good hacks" and another commenting that he "talks sense".
As Whitehead's list highlights, protein is key to unlocking successful weight loss and fat reduction.
