Vauxhall offering major Tesco Clubcard boost to British drivers with electric car owners set to benefit most

The partnership between Vauxhall and Tesco was first launched earlier this year
Drivers could be offered a huge Tesco Clubcard point boost when purchasing a new vehicle under new plans from a major car brand.
Vauxhall is offering customers a staggering 50,000 Tesco Clubcard points if they buy a new car from a UK retailer.
The offer is being introduced to mark the latest partnership between the British car manufacturer and the supermarket with the Clubcard Points Partner agreement running until the end of the year.
It follows the launch of Vauxhall's partnership with Tesco earlier this year, which allows electric vehicle customers to benefit from a free year of EV charging credit to use at Tesco stores around the UK.

Drivers will be able to exchange the 50,000 Clubcard points for £500 in Clubcard vouchers to be used in one of its almost 3,000 stores.
Alternatively, they can double the value of the offer with more than 100 Clubcard Reward Partners, giving motorists a total value of £1,000.
James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Vauxhall is always looking for ways to both reward and support our customers and we are delighted to be able to bring this incredible offer to them through the Tesco Clubcard scheme.
“What is particularly exciting for us, is that for our new electric vehicle (EV) customers, we can now not only reward them for their purchase of a new EV, but also provide the incentive of one year’s free EV charging credit."
Taylor said that Vauxhall was dedicated to helping drivers make the transition to cleaner vehicles with its extensive range of electric models.
This includes new PCP offers on the new Corsa Electric YES Edition and the Mokka Electric Griffin being particularly popular among Britons.
Vauxhall's partnership with Tesco will allow motorists to make use of Pod Point's 2,700 chargepoints across 619 stores, with a mix of 7kW, 22kW, 50kW and 75kW charging stations.
The Bedfordshire-based production company is also working with leading charging operators, including Char.gy and Connected Kerb, to boost the number of residential on-street chargers.
Through the Electric Streets of Britain scheme, drivers can register their interest in having an EV charger installed in their local area.
It uses a national database to track which areas are most in need of an EV charger based on requests from motorists, helping councils lay out a proper plan for targeted installations.
Research from Vauxhall found that 70 per cent of councils around the country did not have a published strategy for residential on-street charging for EVs.
It also revealed that a shocking 69 per cent of local authorities were yet to install any on-street chargers, with around 62,500 chargers currently installed around the UK.
