Drivers are being warned of long delays and road closures following a collision, with an Air Ambulance being called to the scene.
National Highways has confirmed that the M6 in Staffordshire is closed northbound between J14 (Stafford) and J15 (Stoke on Trent) following an accident.
All emergency services, including Staffordshire Police, are in attendance, in addition to traffic officers from National Highways.
The transport organisation has confirmed that an Air Ambulance has also arrived at the scene to deal with the collision.
While preparations are being made to release traffic caught within the closure, long delays are already being felt.
Traffic maps from National Highways show delays of 40 minutes against expected levels between J14 and J15.
However, motorists stuck in standstill traffic between J13 and J14 are experiencing delays of 50 minutes.
National Highways estimates that the event is expected to clear between 1.45pm and 2pm, although this may be extended.

Normal traffic conditions are expected to return at a similar time, although adjoining roads are also seeing traffic levels build.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told GB News: "We were called to reports of an RTC involving a van and a lorry on the northbound M6, between junctions 14 and 15, at 9.17am.
"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity attended the scene.
"On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man. He was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance.

"The aircrew travelled with the patient on the back of the ambulance to help continue treatment en route to hospital."
Roads to the south of the M6 incident show slow-moving traffic, especially around Wolverhampton, while slight congestion is building near Stoke-on-Trent.
National Highways said: "If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
The transport organisation has also set out a diversion route for impacted motorists travelling near the M6.

Northbound traffic is advised to follow the hollow triangle diversion symbol on road signs
- At M6 Junction 14, take the exit to A34 northbound
- Continue along A34 northbound to its junction with A500 at Hanford
- Take the exit to A500 westbound and continue to M6 Junction 15
