New research has found which cars are the most reliable on the market today, with a very popular vehicle being ranked as a sure bet for motorists.
The Toyota Yaris has been crowned the UK’s most reliable model with an average score of 89 out of 100 thanks to its low repair costs.
The Yaris, which is now in its fourth generation, was praised for its consistent performance and reliability based on data between 2020 and 2023.
With experts praising Toyota for the brand’s quality control, the average repair bill for a Yaris was just £604.50, with the highest repair request clocking in at £2,887.20.

Toyota dominated the top 10 list, with the Auris, Aygo and Hilux also making an appearance, in addition to other brands like Kia, Honda and Peugeot.
Drivers have been highlighting the importance of having a reliable car amid the cost of living crisis and the rising price of vehicle repairs.
Lawrence Whittaker, CEO of Warrantywise, commented on the new Reliability Index, saying the findings would help motorists choose a car they can trust.

He added: "At Warrantywise, we are dedicated to providing our consumers with valuable insights about their vehicles.
“We recognise the importance of making wise choices, particularly in light of the rising cost of repair, and also that even the most reliable car is vulnerable to faults.
“Whether you buy a Toyota Yaris or a Honda CR-V, protecting your car with an extended warranty is one of the most reliable ways to confidently drive a used car without fear of big breakdown bills.”
With many looking to upgrade their vehicles, the Reliability Index could act as a key indicator for whether drivers can have confidence in their cars to avoid breaking down and expensive repairs.
