Shoppers will no longer be able to pick up single use cutlery in stores.
Instead, they are encouraged to use their own reusable knives, forks and spoons.

This change will roll out to all stores

Doing so will mean a reduction of 10.5 million wooden forks.
Plastics and packaging director at Aldi Luke Emery said: “At Aldi, we are constantly reviewing ways to become more environmentally friendly, and this is another positive change to help us make a difference.
