Sue Radford voices concern for tearful daughter as 22 Kids and Counting star hits 'rock bottom'

A voiceover detailing what was to come from the episode announced what was to come, and a crying Sophie could be seen as the narrator explained: "When one of the family hits rock bottom, the others rally to pull her out of a rut."

"I'm turning 30 soon and I'm dreading it," Sophie told cameras as the episode began. She went on to detail how her 20s were spent being a mother to her three children and that she's fallen into "a rut," feeling as though she has abandoned other aspects of life she once enjoyed.

It didn't take long for mum Sue to notice her daughter had withdrawn from the family, and she decided to pitch an idea to her along with her second-eldest daughter, Chloe, who was once very close with Sophie.

"I'm not wanting to interfere, but she seems to be in a really bad place and I'm not sure I can leave it any longer," Sue told Chloe. The two then called Sophie to suggest a 30th birthday party, but Sophie declined, explaining she didn't feel up to it.

After some persuasion, Sue and Chloe were able to twist her arm and convince her to take a girls' trip with them and 21-year-old Katie.

The cameras soon followed the women to Amsterdam, where Chloe had arranged a surprise burlesque dance class to cheer her sister up.

Unfortunately, Sophie wasn't enjoying it and admitted: "I feel stupid," before later exiting in tears despite Sue's best efforts to get her second-born to enjoy herself.

"I couldn't feel less sexy if I tried," she admitted, going on to say she felt uncomfortable in the class. Chloe confessed her sister's response had left her "taken aback," as the pair used to love dancing together as children.

In a last-ditch attempt to change the atmosphere, Chloe arranged for the women to take part in a sculpting session, but hadn't realised she had booked a nude class.

"I had no idea this was a live modelling class," she told cameras, adding: "When they said naked, I thought, 'This is going to push Sophie over the edge.'"

However, the sisters managed to see the funny side, with the tense atmosphere between them broken - and Sophie seemingly enjoyed the rest of the trip, admitting she felt "more relaxed".

Later, she and Chloe had a heart-to-heart where they vowed to make more of an effort to keep each other updated.

"When life's so repetitive, you just need to break it up and try to do something different, don't you?" Chloe advised.

"All my family always play a huge part in making me feel better," Sophie reflected later, adding: "So when it comes to just talking to them, I always feel so much better."

Thankfully, Sophie left Amsterdam feeling more hopeful about the future.
