The legendary Welsh singer admitted to stealing during a gig
Sir Tom Jones issued an apology live on TV as he recalled how he once "stole" during a gig which had descended into chaos.
The 84-year-old She's a Lady hit-maker made the admission during a recent interview before making the apology.
Jones appeared on BBC's The One Show on Thursday, when host Alex Jones, 47, probed: "You had to leave the stage in a hurry once and you may have taken a little something with you, leaving the stage?"
The Welsh singer replied: "What happened was... It was close to Christmas and I was playing in a working men's club in South Wales, coal mining at the that time.
"Fights broke out. I mean, people went berserk. So they closed the curtains. On stage, they were about to have the raffle and there were three hampers there for Christmas.
"So I thought, 'let's have a look and there was a turkey in there.' So I took the turkey and stuck it in the back of the amplifier."

He continued: "And then later on, I couldn't go back to the club and I said, 'Why can't I play there any more?'
"They said, 'you stole a chicken.' I said, 'excuse me, I didn't steal a chicken, it was a turkey!'"
"You can take the boy out of the valley!" Alex quipped before the singer replied: "I was in the valley at the time! I do apologise - I told my wife that I had won it."
"These things were a long time ago," the host clarified following Jones' apology.

Meanwhile, The One Show viewers were left disappointed during the latest episode as the hosts skirted over the Jermaine Jenas controversy.
It was announced earlier on Thursday Jenas had been sacked following accusations of inappropriate behaviour.
It's been claimed the broadcaster launched an internal investigation following concerns about The One Show and Match of the Day presenter.
Jenas had been working as a sports pundit for the company and also joined The One Show in 2020.
A BBC spokesperson confirmed the presenter's removal, commenting: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting lineup."

Thursday's show opened with presenters Jones and Clara Amfo, 40. They welcomed guests David Oyelowo, will.i.am and Jones.
Throughout the half-hour episode, no mention of Jenas' absence or axe from the show was made, which didn't go unnoticed by viewers.
Many took to social media to question the decision not to address the scandal.
